While it's not an official production still from "Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice," there is finally an image online giving fans a first glimpse at Henry Cavill as Clark Kent. The snap was taken for The Royal Marines Charitable Trust Fund, which is a charity organization in the UK that assists both active and retired Royal Marines and their families.
In the image, Cavill is holding up a T-shirt that shows his support for the Royal Marine Challenge, which is an event where Royal Marine Commandos will ski, sail, cycle, canoe and run 4136 miles to commemorate the organization's 350th anniversary. The challenge began in February and will last through the end of July.
The shot of Cavill was revealed on the organization's Twitter feed this morning. The massive production headed up by director Zack Snyder is slated to be released on May 6, 2016. It's a long way off until the release, but fans will take any bites they can.
"Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice" is the first time that both of DC's heavyweights will be seen on the big screen together. The pic of Cavill as the iconic Clark Kent should provide some positive buzz around the Internet as fans wait for more official images of the movie to be released by Warner Bros. In 2013's "Man of Steel," Cavill spent most of his time either on the Kent family farm or in his Superman costume, with his Clark Kent disguise not appearing until the film's closing moments. So this image actually clues audiences in on how the film will portray Kent for the 21st century.
"Dawn of Justice" will also feature Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Gal Gadot as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor and Amy Adams as Lois Lane. With this pic surfacing, it solidifies that fans are finally going to see two icons go head to head on the big screen. You can learn more about the Royal Marine Challenge in the video below:
