HTC One A9 Dummy Unit Images Leak: Best Look At The Device Until Oct. 20 Launch

HTC has a media event scheduled for Oct. 20 where the company is expected to showcase its HTC One A9 smartphone. Now, an image of the upcoming mobile phone's dummy unit has leaked online, giving an early glimpse of how the handset may look like.

The leaked image of HTC One A9's dummy unit comes courtesy of Twitter user @OnLeaks who also has leaked pictures of other devices in the past.

The tweet does not give any information about the specs of the smartphone, but if the leaked images are legit then the HTC One A9 will have some design aspects similar to that of the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6s.

If the leaked images are to be believed then the HTC One A9 will have a curved aluminum unibody design with inlaid plastic lines for the antennas. The handset will have a raised circular-shaped camera hump and a microSD and SIM card slot on the side.

The dummy has a logo of AT&T on the display screen, which hints that the One A9 may be exclusive to the carrier.

With the upcoming HTC One A9, the Taiwanese smartphone maker has changed its priorities. The speakers are no longer at the front, but on the One A9 the speakers are at the bottom. However, the fingerprint sensor has been put on the front for easy access.

HTC has not confirmed any hardware specs of the HTC One A9 but previous rumors indicate that the smartphone will have a 5-inch full HD AMOLED display with 1,080 x 1,920 pixels resolution and 441ppi.

An octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor and 2 GB of RAM are expected to power the HTC One A9. The phone may come with just 16 GB on-board storage with the option to expand the memory using a microSD card.

The HTC One A9 may also get a 13 MP rear-facing camera and a 4 MP front-facing camera. The camera of the smartphone is also estimated to get optical image stabilization (OIS) for reducing blur. A 2,150mAh battery will fuel the HTC offering and it will come running on the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

Oct. 20 is just a few days away and customers will have to wait a bit more for HTC to confirm the exact specs, price and availability of the HTC One A9 at the event.
