New 'AHS: Hotel' Promo Reveals What Guests Can Expect In Next Week's 'Chutes and Ladders' And The Rest Of This Season

Warning! This article features spoilers for those who haven't seen episode one!

Hotel Cortez opened its doors on Wednesday night, giving fans a taste of the blood that will be spilled – and consumed – by Lady Gaga and the cast this season.

Before we went to bed (double-checking that no ghouls were hidden in our mattresses and praying we wouldn't have nightmares), we got to learn a bit about the guests of American Horror Story: Hotel.

Showrunner Ryan Murphy didn't disappoint with the Season 5 premiere — pushing the envelop to make this season the most risqué season yet... and that's after seeing just one episode. There was sex, drugs and murder — and how can we forget the creepy ghost children running down the halls and the perverted monster that might slip in at room 64?

While we got just a tease of the hidden secrets of the hotel, a promo that aired directly after the first episode gave us a look at what we can expect for the guests at Hotel Cortez this season.

In the first episode, wealthy fashion designer Will Drake (Cheyenne Jackson) and his son Lachlan (Lyric Lennon Parker-Angel) move into the hotel (as we see the return of Murder House realtor Marcy, and learn what happened to the dog!) And while Drake will be the new owner of Hotel Cortez, its undead guests aren't so happy about this.

In the episode two promo titled "Chutes and Ladders," Countess Elizabeth (Lady Gaga) is seen planting a great but deadly idea, saying that Will Drake must die. But going by what we already know about the residents at the hotel, just because people die doesn't mean they can't still exist among the living.

According to Murphy, the next two episodes will teach us more about Mother Monster's story, how she became a vampire who lives on sex and blood, and why she is building a blonde child army.

"We establish by episode two or three what year she was born and her story is very much wrapped into the silent film culture of early Los Angeles. So I think it was giving people a foreshadowing of what her character is about," Murphy told Entertainment Weekly.

The promo also shows new guests have come to the hotel, including actress Ramona Royale (Angela Bassett), as Sally (Sarah Paulson) starts to lose it with the new changes occurring at her home. We also learn that Sally is responsible for stuffing the mattress with these poor souls.

Teasing the rest of the season, we get to see Gaga more in all her glory.

"We have two selves: the one the world needs us to be, compliant, and the shadow," the Countess says. "Ignore it and life is forever suffering."

We then see a montage of scenes to come this season, including druggies overdosing, hands reaching out to choke Ms. Royale, a look at James March (Evan Peters) – who is the builder of the hotel and a murderer based on H.H. Holmes – a strange man wearing some sort of gas mask, and the police raiding the hotel.

We can't help but wonder if the man in the mask is the creature Iris went to feed in room 33, but we won't get to find out more about the "thing" named Bartholomew until episode 5.

There are lots of secrets to uncover at Hotel Cortez, and we expect to be creeped out the entire ride. Watch the AHS: Hotel promo for "Chutes and Ladders" in the clip below.
