Google included a Flappy Bird clone game in Android 5.0 Lollipop and it has included a similar game in the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow mobile operating system. In the game, a small orange Android replaces the bird.
The game icon does not appear on the display screen and users will have to dig into the Settings of their mobile phone to locate the popular game.
Once a user has navigated to the Settings, they will need to tap on System and then the About Tablet button. Users will then have to tap continuously on the Android version. The game opens when a big marshmallow appears on the screen inside a colored circle. A long press on this giant marshmallow and tapping on the icon lets a user access the game.
The Flappy Bird-inspired game on Android 6.0 Marshmallow is quite straightforward and does not include many controls. A user has to move a small Android robot by tapping the screen, being careful to avoid Android marshmallow-shaped hurdles.
Google launched the Nexus 6P and the Nexus 5X smartphones along with Android 6.0 Marshmallow on Sept. 29. The next-generation Nexus smartphones will be the first devices to run on the latest Android operating system. Both the handsets are expected to hit the shelves in mid-October.
However, Google has already started rolling out Android 6.0 Marshmallow to its older Nexus devices including the Nexus 5, Nexus 6 and more. Android device owners who have received the software update will be able to play and enjoy the Easter egg game on their device.
Android's latest operating system will also be available on other Android devices in the near term, which means that non-Nexus device owners will have to wait slightly longer before they can play the hidden game in Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
