Microsoft Launches Wunderlist For Windows 10: New Design, Live Tiles, To-Dos With Cortana And More

Wunderlist for Windows 10 is now out of beta, bringing along Live Tiles, to-dos with Cortana and other new features.

Back in June, Microsoft expanded its range of productivity apps and services with the acquisition of German startup 6Wunderkinder, which made popular to-do app Wunderlist.

Wunderlist for Windows 10 was only available in beta, but now the productivity app has rolled out in its final, official version for desktop. Touted as the "best Wunderlist for Windows" app so far, the productivity tool has several neat features to offer.

"Packed with a brand new design, Live Tiles and a more personal way to add to-dos with Cortana, Wunderlist for Windows 10 will help you get stuff done the smart way," reads a new announcement on the Wunderlist blog.

The new design now offers clear backgrounds that go easier on the eye, as well as a number of various themes and different colors that aim to make it easier and more pleasant to read to-dos.

Integration with Cortana, meanwhile, now allows Windows 10 users to voice or type Wunderlist requests using Microsoft's digital assistant. For instance, users may be working in some other app on their PC and suddenly realize they want to add a new to-do in Wunderlist or see their to-dos for the day.

With seamless Cortana integration, users can utter "Hey Cortana, add finalize presentation tomorrow to Wunderlist," and the digital assistant will immediately add the to-do complete with a Due Date and Reminder. Cortana will put your to-do in your Wunderlist Inbox so you can later add Notes to it or move it to some other list. Similarly, asking "Hey Cortana, show me my Wunderlist to-dos due today" will prompt the digital assistant to instantly pull the to-do list so you don't have to waste time digging for it.

The announcement on the Wunderlist blog further notes that the Wunderlist team is still working on making Wunderlist for Windows 10 a universal app. This means that Wunderlist will work across all Windows 10 PCs, tablets and phones, but it remains unclear just when it will become available as a universal app. In the meantime, you can download Wunderlist for Windows 10 from the Microsoft Store.
