Want To Scare 'Star Wars' Fans? Just Get This Inflatable Jabba The Hutt

Jabba the Hutt is far from an imposing character.

Outside of being one of the Star Wars universe's biggest criminals, there's not much about Jabba that's actually scary. He's basically a fat, slow, slimy, greedy slug — aside from some resistance to Jedi mind tricks, Jabba doesn't have much to offer outside of metal bikinis.

That being said, it's not impossible to make Jabba scary — just look at his CG cameo in Star Wars Episode IV. There's something about the character's lifeless eyes that just doesn't sit right ... thankfully, the horrible CG imagery is enough to remind viewers that Jabba isn't real.

... but what if he was?

What if there was a real-life, full-size Jabba the Hutt sitting in your lawn right now? What if its cold, dead eyes were forever staring out into the nothingness? Well, if you've been searching for just that (for whatever reason), ThinkGeek has got you covered: a new, inflatable Jabba the Hutt lawn decoration is now available for purchase.

There's no denying that an inflatable Jabba the Hutt is a strange product to sell: he's not tied to any major holiday (except for maybe May 4th), so there's no real reason to keep him out in the yard. Perhaps, when Halloween rolls around, he'll be just big enough to scare away a few younglings ... but what happens when Christmas rolls around? What about Thanksgiving or Easter?

Then again, maybe this inflatable Jabba is more than just a simple lawn ornament — there's got to be a man-cave or media room somewhere out there that needs a giant inflatable slug to really pull the room together ...

If you really want to pick up the inflatable Jabba the Hutt (be honest, you do), he's available for $169 USD at Thinkgeek's official site. For anyone who's fine with waiting to see Star Wars on the big screen, The Force Awakens opens on Dec. 18.
