California home to 6 of snobbiest midsize cities in the U.S.

A real estate company has managed to compile a list of the snobbiest midsize cities in the United States. Apparently, six of these cities are in California, which isn't surprising. However, surprise began to kick in when we learned that one of these cities is in Silicon Valley.

This particular place is called Sunnyvale, and it is the home of Yahoo's headquarters, believe it or not. We doubt the Yahoo office is filled with snobs, since chances are they all line up for lunch just like anyone else. And who has time to be a snob when Yahoo could slip and go under in the blink of an eye?

Still, that did not stop real estate company Movoto from compiling a list. Apparently, the company came to its conclusion by using some astounding algorithm. At the end of the day, Movoto has compiled a top ten list of the snobbiest cities in America.

According to the company, it used the percentage of population with a college degree, performing arts and art galleries per capita, fast food restaurants per capita, country clubs, private schools per capita, median household income, and median home price to help determine the true essence of snobbery.

If we go by Movoto's statistics and findings, if a place has an art gallery and is lacking a McDonald's fast-food restaurant, then chances are that place is snobby. So as it stands, a snob doesn't eat at McDonald's, and they frequently visit art galleries in their spare time. We shall definitely keep this information in mind for future reference.

As it stands, the top place in California one should deem as the snobbiest place to call home is Pasadena. This place is overrun by private schools, performing arts galleries, and nearby country clubs. Furthermore, there's a high chance not a single fast-food chain resides in this place since it holds the number one spot. OK, we're just kidding, but seriously -- is there a McDonald's in Pasadena?

The top ten list:

1. Pasadena, Calif.

2. Thousand Oaks, Calif.

3. Alexandria, Va.

4. Naperville, Ill.

5. Santa Rosa, Calif.

6. Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

7. Glendale, Calif.

8. Sunnyvale, Calif.

9. Fullerton, Calif.

10. Eugene, Ore.

(And the answer, after a quick Google search, is -- yes, it appears there are several McDonald's restaurants. Pasadena also is home to a Ronald McDonald House, where parents of ill children can stay while their child is in the hospital.)
