Star Wars: Battlefront is one of the most anticipated video games coming out this year, but if a tester is to be believed, fans may have to prepare to riot.
The alleged alpha tester of the game claims that at the moment, things are very bad. That's quite surprising since the game is coming out in Nov. 17, 2016, and the team would have to finish development way before that date.
The tester also claims that Electronic Arts and developer, Dice, are pushing to have the game finished and out the door before Star Wars: The Force Awakens hit theaters in December. This move to have the game release close to the date of the movie could mean gamers might come across several issues when they jump online to blast lasers at their friends.
"I've been Alpha testing a few games and I can say Battlefront is a complete mess and is broken. Considering that their deadline for the game is in a few weeks and they still haven't fixed the majority of the in game problems let alone the connection problem me and other testers were having, yes it's going to be a mess. And even a day 1 patch won't fix all of them, I don't know too much outside what I played, but the game is indeed rushed and it's all because of Episode 7 releasing this December," posted the alpha tester.
If what this tester is saying turns out to be real, then fans should expect a hefty day one patch designed to fix the problems laid out here.
We're at a time in our lives when game developers can release a title with several bugs, and along with it, a sizeable day one patch to fix them all, or just the most important ones.
When will publishers choose to end this madness and release to gamers a complete game that doesn't require an extra 2GB download for the game to be operational?
What's interesting is how the test stated that Black Ops 3 has its fair share of bugs, but not as bad as Star Wars: Battlefront. It would seem as if Activision is doing a better job than EA thus far.
