The Summer Ends Music Festival, which was supposed to be a celebration of music, turned sour for many as several people got injured during the concert.
Local media reported that on Saturday, Sept. 26, more than 10 people were injured when the swelling crowd at the festival in Tempe Beach Park, Arizona rushed to the stage.
According to the Tempe Fire Department, of those people they were treating, at least seven needed to be transported to the hospital because of injuries.
It is believed that one of the persons taken to the hospital also sustained a head injury. However, the fire department did not elaborate on the nature and extent of the injuries of the concertgoers.
The crowd surge is said to have started when the band Rebelution took to the stage and started to perform. "It was the band itself that stopped playing music to call for help," local NBC station 12 News reported.
"It got too crazy, so it just went out of control," revealed a concertgoer.
Another attendee of the festival - 16-year-old Rayna Feerer from Phoenix - recounted the experience, saying that she was unable to breathe due to the melee. "There were too many people there. I could not breathe and was getting trampled every five minutes," she said.

I almost died like 50 times tonight by being suffocated by how many people there were, but still a night to remember #summerends — Savy Sue (@savannahforlife) September 27, 2015
