Apple Campus 2's progress in Cupertino is well underway and is getting some pretty sweet aerial shots of the project being built from the ground up courtesy of Apple themselves, as well as these recently released images taken with a 4K Drone from the aerial photography company, Above Reno.
To take the shots, Above Reno reportedly had to coordinate with the local FAA office to obtain flying permits on the construction site over the Labor Day weekend earlier this month. Apple's Campus 2 is scheduled to be completed in late 2016 with Apple employees moving in by early 2017.
As previously seen in an image provided by Apple published on the City of Cupertino's website, the construction features a circular structure in the site's main building. In addition, reports say that the campus is also designed to have a 1,000-seat auditorium, an underground parking structure to not hinder the view of the site with rows of cars, and over 300,000-square-feet of R&D facilities.
The site is expected to house, for work and play, 13,000 of Apple's employees. The area is 2.8-million-square-feet big and is actually bigger than the Pentagon. Initial reactions to the concept artwork for the central structure, which in itself is more than a mile around, have made many reports nicknaming the construction: Apple's Spaceship Building.
Currently the construction is being handled by the Rudolph and Sletten and the Holder Construction companies.
This newest aerial drone footage of the progress of Campus 2 was made in a stunning 4K resolution by Emory Peterson with Above Reno. According to the photography company, which regularly posts updates on the Apple site, the video was shot "at or below 400 feet above ground level with clearance from the local FAA office."
