Oscar Mayer's New Dating App Sizzl Matches Users Based On Their Love Of Bacon

There are some qualities in a potential match that can be major deal breakers. These are usually things such as if the person is a smoker, does drugs or is a serial cheater.

On the flip side, there are some qualities that people specifically look for in a partner, like if they are a family person, have similar tastes in music and of course, how much they love bacon.

Allowing users to see what kind of fresh meat is out there, Oscar Mayer released a new dating app on Wednesday that allows users to see if sparks sizzle using bacon as an ice breaker.

Developed by a team at Kraft Foods, Inc., the dating app, called Sizzl, helps singles find that special someone to have, hold and devour.

In case you were wondering if this was some tasteless joke, no, this really is a real and "incredible" dating app.

"In love, as it is in bacon, it's important to be discerning when selecting your perfect match and to never settle for less than the best," Oscar Mayer marketing director Eric Dahmer said in a statement. "We passionately cure our bacon for 12 hours, and lovingly smoke-house it for another 12, making it the true bacon for bacon lovers. With the launch of Sizzl, we're thrilled to give our true bacon lovers the chance to find each other and potentially meet their soulmates, in life and in bacon."

Users sign into the dating app by using their Facebook account; however, Sizzl said it will not publish anything on your wall, so you don't have to worry about your vegetarian friends poking their virtual fingers at you.

Users are asked a series of bacon-related questions to help determine suitable matches. Questions include whether you are a pork, turkey or both, bacon lover, why you prefer one over the other (pigs are cooler than turkeys), how you like your bacon cooked and whether you would split the last strip while on a date.

When a potential bacon lover comes up, their profile photo is displayed (bonus points for the guy who uploaded a photo with Kevin Bacon), their age and location, as well as a bio, what type of bacon lover they are, how they like their bacon and if they are a bacon taker, giver or splitter.

Instead of swiping left or right, users let the app know their level of interest in a potential partner by tapping on the "X" if they aren't feeling the profile picture or by holding down the "Sizzl-meter," the heart-shaped bacon strip icon. Tap the Sizzl-meter all the way to express that this person is heating you up or gently press if they are slightly sizzling. The potential match is not told how you rated them. If you do give someone the "X" by accident or change your mind, you can shake your device to go back and reevaluate them. If the other user feels like fire too, then you are declared bacon lovers.

There is the option to chat with potential matches so you can talk about your shared love of bacon. In the settings options, users can toggle on or off the "Discovery" feature, where you will still be able to chat with friends and matches even though new matches won't be able to find you. Users can also adjust the age range of their bacon daters (anywhere between 18 to 99) and prioritize nearby matches so that maybe you could set up a date at the local diner for some BLTs.

Sizzl is available to download for free for only iPhone-using bacon lovers.
