Amazon Prime Now has arrived in Los Angeles and Orange County. Residents may now upgrade to cooler items for their home and personal use in an hour by doing a few swipes on mobile.
Shoppers from L.A., Santa Monica, Silver Lake, Irvine, and Redondo Beach who have the Amazon Prime Now app on their smartphones may log in to their Amazon account and choose among thousands of products, which include ice cream, leather bags, and the Xbox, among many others.
After adding items to the cart, the shopper may choose between the one-hour paid service at $7.99 or the two-hour free delivery service. The item then goes on its way and may be tracked through the app.
"Customers love the convenience of getting items delivered right to their doors in under an hour," said Amazon's Prime Now director Stephenie Landry.
Users are also getting more from the premium app. They can soon opt for delivery services from nearby grocery outlets such as Sprouts Farmers Market, Bristol Farms, 99 Ranch Market, and Fresh & Easy.
Amazon is teaming up with small and mid-level grocery chains, a territory dominated by Walmart.
