Galaxy S7 Variant Powered By Exynos 8890 Appears On Geekbench With 3GB RAM

Rumors about the specs of the Samsung Galaxy S7 have been spreading like wildfire. Just recently, a device with the codename Samsung Project Lucky has been making the rounds of the Internet.

This device, which is believed to be a variant of the Galaxy S7, was seen on Geekbench 3 showcasing 3GB of RAM and running Android Lollipop 5.0.2. Furthermore, the leak says this variant comes with a 1.5 GHz Octa-core Exynos 8890 SoC. The Exynos 8890 chipset is also known as Mongoose.

An earlier Galaxy S7 variant tagged as the "Samsung Lucky-LTE model," also spotted via Geekbench 3, is rumored to showcase Exynos 8890 SoC and to house 4 GB RAM, different specifications than the other rumored variant.

Reports have surfaced saying the Project Lucky variant already went through a Geekbench 3 performance test on Sept. 12. The device garnered a score of 1,532 in a single-core performance as well as 5,434 in multicore performance.

Interestingly, according to reports, the Project Lucky-LTE model which has 4 GB of RAM recorded 1.38 GHz maximums for the octa-core chipset. It is slightly lower as compared with that of the model without the LTE notation, which logged 1.5 GHz.

Meanwhile, based on the Geekbench, the Project Lucky-LTE recorded a 1,415 score in a single-core performance and logged a 4,932 score in a multicore performance.

Speculation on the screen sizes of these prototypes also leaked online. The reported sizes are 5.7 inches or 5.8 inches as well as 5.2 inches.

Earlier this month, we also reported leaks revealing that at least one of these prototypes will show off an impressive 4K resolution. If the rumor is true, the report pointed out, the 5.8-inch model would be the most suitable candidate. It said, "a 5.2-inch display would be a bit of an overkill."

Steve Hemmerstoffer, a tech blogger, also disclosed a purported AnTuTu benchmark which indicated rumored specs of the device with the name "Lucky." Based on the AnTuTu benchmark, "Lucky" (which is believed to be the Samsung Galaxy S7) boasts the following impressive specifications: 64 GB of storage; a 5-megapixel front shooter; a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor; 5.7-inch QHD display; 4 GB of RAM; a 16-megapixel rear camera; and Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.

"Could this be an early #Samsung's #GalaxyS7 #AnTuTu Benchmark?..." writes Hemmerstoffer on his Twitter account.
