Heated sports debates between ESPN First Take's Stephen A. Smith and Skip Bayless often spill into bets being placed between the two outspoken personalities.
There was last October, when Smith confidently told Bayless that he would don a Tony Romo jersey and Dallas Cowboys hat if the Cowboys defeated the Seattle Seahawks at CenturyLink Field, where America's Football team did indeed pull off the upset. Smith paid out the bet, appearing on First Take with the Romo jersey and Dallas hat, much to the delight of Bayless, who isn't shy about calling the Cowboys his favorite team.
Then, there was the time that the two bet on the Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Manny Pacquiao fight this past May, when Bayless vowed to wear The Money Team T-shirt and hat if Mayweather won, which he did. Bayless wasn't as gracious of a loser as Smith, though, taking off the shirt and hat and launching them off the show's set live on the air.
Now, the pair is back with another bet. With the kickoff for the 2015 NFL season taking place Thursday night, Smith told Bayless that he is so sure that Dallas won't make it to the Super Bowl that he'll wear an entire week's worth of Cowboys gear in the case that they do.
"There's no chance in hell that the Dallas Cowboys make the Super Bowl," Smith said on First Take on Thursday.
In case viewers forgot how Smith looks in his Cowboys duds, let this be a reminder.
What made it worse was Stephen A. had to fulfill that bet ... on his birthday. Rough way to celebrate. With the loss of DeMarco Murray at running back, though, Tech Times thinks Smith is safe on this bet and that the Cowboys will not make it to the Super Bowl. Not even close.
