Apple Seeds OS X El Capitan Golden Master To Developers, Beta Testers Ahead Of Sept. 30 Public Release Date

Apple has released OS X 10.11 El Capitan Golden Master seed to developers. The Golden Master is expected to become the final software build that Apple will be releasing to the public on Sept. 30.

Apple has launched the update as a public beta since July and has focused on enhancing two key areas. These include "experience," which involves a stronger integration of Apple's own apps and "performance," which involves better or faster OS X performance.

Apple already seeded eight betas of OS X El Capitan during the period of public beta testing to both developers and beta testers. The last of these betas, aptly called "beta 8," was seeded on Aug. 31.

This time, the company decided to seed GM build 15A282c to developers which, at some point, became unavailable for download and was listed as "Coming Soon." After making the download available again, Apple also started sending emails to public beta testers to inform them that they can now participate in the testing phase of the latest OS X version.

"OS X El Capitan builds on the groundbreaking features and beautiful design introduced in OS X Yosemite, refining the experience and improving performance in lots of little ways that make a big difference," said Apple on its official site.

Some of the enhanced features to expect from OS X El Capitan include Split View, Mission Control, Spotlight, Mail, Notes, Photos, Safari and Maps. Moreover, the latest version claims to have an enhanced language support that allows an easier and more beautiful way of reading and writing Chinese and Japanese characters on a Mac.

Apple has also brought Metal to Mac, which allows users to enjoy a more fluid gaming performance, key system-level graphics operations and high-performance apps. Even daily activities, such as launching and switching apps, accessing email and opening files all seem to occur faster and snappier. The experience therefore becomes more fluid and more responsive than ever.

Apple launched the Apple Beta Software Program as part of its plan to continue enhancing the latest OS X version. Users who decide to participate in the program will have the privilege to try out the OS X in prerelease versions and eventually share their opinions to Apple.

Apple OS X El Capitan is scheduled to launch on Sept. 30 and will be available as a free download to Mac users.
