iPhone 6s And 6s Plus: Pricing, Preorder and Release Details For Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile And Apple

Apple, along with Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile, has just announced the upcoming release of its latest and greatest smartphones: the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. Here are the pricing, preorder and release details for Apple and the four major carriers.

The iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus will be available for preorder from Apple and the major carriers on Sept. 12 at 12:01 a.m PT. Apple traditionally has begun its preorders for new iPhones on Fridays, but this year it switched to Saturday, which should please those who previously had to stay up late before a workday to snag their new phones.

Customers have the option of ordering through Apple or directly through the website of their carrier. Regardless of the method used, the release date for Apple and all other carriers is Sept. 25. That doesn't mean that you won't receive your phone before that date. In recent years, some carriers jumped the gun and actually shipped out iPhones earlier than the official release date.

Apple has also announced the official pricing for the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus, both at full retail and with a two-year contract through the major carriers. The iPhone 6s on contract will cost $199 for the 16GB storage option, $299 for 64GB and $399 for 128GB. The full retail price of the 6s will be $649 for 16GB, $749 for 64GB and $849 for 128GB.

The iPhone 6s Plus on contract will cost $299 for the 16GB storage option, $399 for 64GB and $499 for 128GB. The full retail price of the 6s will be $749 for 16GB, $849 for 64GB and $949 for 128GB.

For customers looking for the increasingly popular monthly payment plan option, Apple has introduced its own spin. While prices of course vary depending on the model and storage configuration chosen, customers can lease the newest iPhone for around $32 per month, with a built-in upgrade each year and AppleCare protection.

The carriers also have various payment plans, with Verizon offering the "Device Payment Plan" option, formerly known as Verizon Edge; AT&T offering the Next plan; and Sprint and T-Mobile also offering less expensive monthly payment plans of their own. These plans are available from the website of each carrier, but may not be available from Apple, even if you already have an account with the carrier. For example, Verizon customers can upgrade their phone on a two-year contract on Apple's website but cannot switch to the device payment plan without visiting an Apple store in person. They may, however, visit Verizon's website directly to change their plan.
