Electronic Arts (EA), the publisher of the first-person shooter game Battlefield Hardline, has announced the beta version of the game at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2014. The gameplay will allow gamers to play as cops and criminals.
E3, which is one of the biggest events in the gaming industry, is underway and game makers are bringing in exciting news for enthusiast gamers. On Monday, June 9, Visceral Games, which is an EA studio, unveiled that Battlefield Hardline will be released on Oct. 21 for PC via Origin, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 (PS) as well as for the latest PlayStation 4 (PS4) and the Xbox One.
EA has also surprised gamers with the launch of the Battlefield Hardline beta version for PC and PS4. Gamers can sign-up and start playing the beta version of the game on Battlefield's website. PS4 users who own the Battlefield 4 can also play the game via their PS4 itself.
Unlike the previous series where the game was based on military conflicts, the latest Battlefield Hardline will feature cops and criminals on the streets of Los Angeles and Miami.
"This is an awesome opportunity to take one of gaming's most exciting franchises in a new direction," says Steve Papoutsis, Vice President and General Manager of Visceral Games. "The cops and criminals fantasy is a great new backdrop for Battlefield and allows us to introduce an impactful story, while still maintaining that intense multiplayer action that fans expect. Best of all, the beta allows lots of fans to jump in and play immediately."
The gameplay of Battlefield Hardline will introduce a new collection of guns and gadgets. Gamers will get access to "stun guns, zip lines, and grappling hooks." The game will also include various vehicles, which gamers can use to escape or chase. In every map, players can play both as cops and criminals.
Ian Milham, Creative Director on Battlefield Hardline at Visceral Games, says that currently there are many first-person military shooter games in the market. The creators took a new approach and settled with the gameplay that includes cops and criminals.
It seems that gamers are very excited to play the beta version of the game and Battlefield's website is getting overwhelming response. Reports suggest that both PC and PS4 gamers are facing issues while attempting to access the beta version of the Battlefield Hardline.
