Embracing new technology sometimes means looking a bit goofy in the process. Thalmic's Myo armband isn't the sort of thing you'd want to wear around as a wardrobe accessory, but it's a pretty cool wearable nonetheless.
The device measures a wearer's muscle movements to control objects on a computer — that means playing games, navigating a desktop and giving PowerPoint presentations by flexing twisting, pinching and making fists.
The wearable has other applications as well, working with a number of different drone companies like Parrot, so users can control their quadcopters by moving an arm around — and again, looking a little silly in the process, but these are the sacrifices we make to be on the bleeding edge.
The wearable is available now from Canadian-based Thalmic Labs for $200 a pop.
