It's not a smartwatch, but it's not not just an activity tracker. In a world where ever conceivable nook and cranny of the wearable space seems filled, Withings managed to do something arguably original with the Activité.
It's a nice-looking Swiss-made wristwatch that tracks steps. And that's pretty much it. It's got an analog face and runs on watch batteries. It doesn't do notifications or any of the other fancy-pants things we've come to expect from our smart devices.
It can, however, track steps, calories, and sleep. The coolest bit, however (aside from the stated eight-month battery life), is the second dial built into the face, which tells you what percentage of the way you are to your daily step count.
The Activité runs $149 - pricey, perhaps, for a standard watch, but Withings has done a great job striking the balance between functionality and fashionable minimalism here.
