A Fallout: New Vegas fan uploaded a video to YouTube that demoed the takeoff and landing of a plane — in a game that has no flyable aircraft to speak of.
The modder-at-hand, who goes by the name of Xilandro on YouTube, created the flyable plane with "simple GTA-like plane physics," as described in the YouTube caption for an earlier version of the aircraft.
The 2010 RPG not-really-a-sequel-sequel to Fallout 3, published by Bethesda Softworks, includes weapons modification in its post-apocalyptic Nevada setting, but nothing related to actual vehicles — grounded, airborne or otherwise.
While the video captures a flawless takeoff and landing, you won't get any impressive explosions if something goes awry: according to earlier videos Xilandro made for charting progress (see below), the plane will merely freeze or halt if it hits or grinds against a barrier, making a clipping or clicking sound.
