Today's Samsung IFA kickoff event was all about the Internet of Things. The company started the event by announcing the launch of its new SmartThings home automation hub – a connected device hub that offers a complete home monitoring system, including camera monitoring systems, security and safety.
The device offers support for multiple cameras through an easy-to-use mobile system, including recordings prior to suspicious events and only holding on to the recording when something suspicious has happened.
The system is available today in the U.S. and is coming to the U.K. next week. Samsung has also announced a partnership with BMW that will make the data it collects available through connected vehicles.
