'Resident Evil 0' And 'Resident Evil' HD Remasters To Be Released In A New Bundle In January

Capcom is releasing the upcoming Resident Evil 0 remaster and the already-released HD version of Resident Evil in a new bundle called the Resident Evil Origins Collection. The bundle will be released in physical disc format for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One when it hits stores Jan. 19, 2016 and will retail for $39.99.

Calling this bundle the Resident Evil Origins Collection is definitely an appropriate title. Resident Evil and Resident Evil 0 are a couple of the earliest games released in the franchise.

Originally released in 1996, Resident Evil is of course the game that started it all, chronicling two special forces agents' fight to stay alive in a zombie-ridden mansion. Resident Evil got a remake in 2002, and it received an HD makeover at the beginning of this year.

Resident Evil 0 is the prequel to Resident Evil originally released in 2002. The HD version of Resident Evil 0 will be released separately in early 2016 for a retail price of $19.99 for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC.

In addition to announcing the release of the Resident Evil Origins Collection, Capcom also gave a sneak peek of the new Wesker Mode that will be available to play in the new Resident Evil 0 release. This new game mode will allow players to battle zombies as Albert Wesker alongside Rebecca Chambers, instead of the Billy Coen character featured in the original game.
