'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' Lego Ad Features Kylo Ren Going After BB-8

The Star Wars: The Force Awakens merchandising blitz is almost here. Come September 4, every store that sells toys will be drowning in new Star Wars products ranging from new, customizable lightsabers to high-quality action figures.

Lego and Star Wars are longtime partners, so it's no surprise that fans will also be able to purchase new Lego sets inspired by the upcoming film soon. A new ad from Lego gives us our best look yet at two sets that will be available.

The first isn't anything too crazy: it's an X-Wing, albeit one with a different color scheme than we are accustomed to. Rather than the traditional red and gray, this X-Wing is black with orange. It looks to be the X-Wing of Rebel pilot Poe Dameron, whom we will no doubt see much more of in the film.

The next vehicle featured in the ad is one we haven't seen before. According to the box, this new ship is Kylo Ren's Command Shuttle, and it comes with mini-figures for Kylo Ren and a number of other First Order characters. The ship is immediately reminiscent of the Imperial Shuttle used by the Emperor in Return of the Jedi.

It's a brief but fun ad, as we see ball droid BB-8 fleeing the wrath of Kylo Ren's crossguard lightsaber. The little droid is picked up just in time by Poe Dameron's X-Wing. You can watch the full ad at the bottom of this post.

This is just the beginning of what is sure to be a Star Wars-heavy holiday season, as children and adults alike flock to stores to buy up as much Star Wars merchandise as possible. From new Lego sets and costumes to official books and comics, it's a Star Wars fan's dream right now. You can check out all the Star Wars toys coming September 4 here.
