Now you can shoot X-wings and TIE Fighters in Star Wars: Battlefront, decked out in headgear made for a Rebel Pilot. Turtle Beach, a company well-known for its video game headsets, just unveiled at PAX Prime its Star Wars-themed gear just in time for the new EA game and in anticipation of the upcoming seventh film.
The headsets, one with a Sandtrooper helmet and the other with a special edition Star Wars: Battlefront logo on its side, are a collaboration between Turtle Beach and Lucasfilm. Although the official release date of the headsets is still to be announced, they are already available for preorder on Best Buy for $99.99, which has exclusivity on the sale of the Sandtrooper version.
Juergen Stark, CEO of Turtle Beach, shared during the unveiling at PAX, that it was hard to keep the lid shut on this collaboration for a Star Wars-themed headset and they are excited that they can finally tell the world about the new designs.
"With as many Star Wars fanatics as we have at Turtle Beach, it's been hard to not let the droid out of the bag about this unique gaming headset. Our top-quality gaming headsets allow us to work with the biggest brands in the world, and we're very happy to continue our ongoing collaboration with Lucasfilm and EA to support Star Wars Battlefront," he said.
The limited edition Sandtrooper headsets will be individually numbered and will be packaged with an extra set of Star Wars -hemed speaker plates.
In addition to Best Buy, the standard version of the headsets can also be preordered from the Turtle Beach website.
According to reports, the headsets will most likely be made available in the fall to coincide with the Nov. 17 release of EA Games' Star Wars: Battlefront.
