While there seems to be a Monopoly board variant for just about every major pop culture phenomenon – like the Avengers Edition, Batman and Robin Collector's Edition, and Disney Edition – video gamers will love this fan-made edition that pays homage to the wonderful world of Wasteland.
Redditor KongoBoom created a Fallout Monopoly game that includes Wasteland property and Lockpick cards replacing the Community Chest and Luck replacing Chance cards. Players start with Camp Searchlight and Vault 22, going on to other Wasteland locations like Fireside, Hidden Valley, The Fort and The Strip.
Players might have to pay the NCR Tax for 4200, or the Lake Mead or Poseidon Energy utility changes — so roll those dice carefully. There is also the ability to purchase the NCR Monorail properties.
And of course there is a Strip Credit Check of $75 if you fall on that space before reaching the most sought-after property.
KongoBoom also uploaded images of Fallout Monopoly on Imgur, sharing photos of property cards that have shacks and casinos replacing the traditional houses and hotels.
But this fan-made Monopoly game is not a Fallout first. Two years ago, another fan uploaded photos of the Fallout Monopoly game he created for his wife's birthday — a project that took him eight months to complete. He used an actual Monopoly board, painting over most of it to reflect Wasteland. It included bottle cap currency, custom-made figurines like a Pip-Boy and suit of powered armor, as well as its very own rules.
Rumors have been swirling around an official Fallout Monopoly game to eventually hit shelves. According to commenters on KongoBoom's reddit post, Fallout fans might be able to pre-order the game exclusively at Gamestop in October, although these rumors have not been confirmed.
Bethesda Softwares will launch Fallout 4 for PS4, Xbox One and PC on November 10.
