Images Of A Pink iPhone 6s Leak Online: Could These Be True?

As Apple allegedly gears up to unveil its next-gen iPhone in September, images of the purported iPhone 6s leaked online sporting a new hue.

The iPhone 6s has leaked donning a new look - a never seen before color for the device officially - pink.

The photo of the supposed iPhone 6s in pink popped up on numerous Chinese websites and were spotted online as they went viral.

The leaked images also show off the promo branding for the impending device, but whether the leak is authentic is questionable. For some publications, the pink iPhone 6s' image is fake and apparently has been in existence since March this year. It is only now that the images have gone viral online.

"This pink iPhone image originated in March 2015, but it only started spreading around online this week, along with a compendium of similarly questionable images that purport to show a pink iPhone. Nonetheless, it shows what could be expected on September 9th," per 9to5Mac.

Apple may not have been instrumental in releasing pink iPhones in the past, but luxury brand Amosu has released special edition iPhone 5 and iPhone 6 smartphones in the hue prior to Valentine's Day.

The company's iPhone 5C is available in hot pink, but the shade of pink for the iPhone 6s seems to be pastel.

Notable analysts such as Ming-Chi Kuo have forecast that Apple is poised to introduce a new hue for its iPhone lineup this fall. However, the experts pointed at a rose gold option - similar to the Apple Watch - rather than a muted pink.

If Apple indeed goes ahead with the pink iPhone 6s, then consumers will have another hue to choose from along with gold, silver and space gray. Whether the new hue will impact the sales of the iPhone 6s is anybody's guess. In 2015, when Apple took out the iPhone 6 in gold, the color went on to become a major hit with consumers.

Possibly, the pink iPhone 6s will be popular among celebrities and it would be interesting to see how consumers react to the shade.
