The Oakland Raiders haven't delivered a winning season since 2002. Yet, Ice Cube has remained loyal to the silver and black throughout. He even released a song called "Come and Get It (Raiders Anthem)," having performed the record at the NFL team's O.co Coliseum.
The rapper and actor reinforced his love for the Raiders on Wednesday night, Aug. 12, treating his favorite NFL team to a special private screening of Straight Outta Compton, before its national release in theaters Friday, Aug. 14. Straight Outta Compton is the biopic about the iconic rap group N.W.A, which included Cube, Dr. Dre, MC Ren, DJ Yella and the late Eazy-E. Cube is portrayed by his real-life son, O'Shea Jackson Jr., in the film.
According to CSN Bay Area, Cube even taped a personal message for the Raiders, before they sat back and got to watch the movie. Two hours and 27 minutes later and the Raiders' players were busy tweeting out their overwhelmingly-positive reviews.
Nice gesture by Ice Cube. Although the tweets thanking him are nice, the Raiders could really repay the rapper and actor by putting together a winning season. Raider Nation needs it, badly.
