A screenshot and video that recently surfaced on Reddit seem to be definitive proof that all of P.T.'s secrets have yet to be uncovered.
It started with Reddit user metatronicsauce posting a new look at P.T.'s ghost Lisa, claiming that the image was taken in a room that was previously thought to be Lisa-free.
"After you get trapped in the bathroom and are forced to be possessed on the next loop, get killed by Lisa to get back to the room you start in," metatronicsauce writes. "If you exit the room backwards, you will see Lisa very briefly before you enter the hallway. You might also sometimes hear her moaning in the basement room, as if you were possessed."
Sure enough, it seems like metatronicsauce has stumbled upon a brand new secret locked within the game's code. Another user then posted a video of the scenario from back in March, proving that the metatronicsauce's scenario wasn't a one time occurrence. You can watch the video below for yourself.
It's more than a little terrifying, though fans aren't exactly sure what it means. Some claim it's yet another secret hidden by developer Hideo Kojima, and thus further proof that the now cancelled Silent Hills would probably have been the scariest and/or best game of all time. Others think this new discovery of Lisa in the game's starting room is merely a case of players being in an area they aren't supposed to be or a bug of some sort.
No matter the reason behind Lisa's latest appearance, it just goes to show why the PlayStation 4 exclusive P.T. is still being played. The short answer is because it's brilliant. It's designed in a way that gets people flocking to Internet message boards to talk theories and share ghost stories. More than a year later and players are still tinkering with the teaser for a canceled game, unlocking new scares and attempting to unravel the mystery behind it all.
Silent Hills may be canceled, but it seems like P.T. will still be going strong for months, and even years, to come.
