Motorola said when it introduced the Moto X Pure Edition that the phone would be available in September, and it looks like you won't have to wait very far into the month to get your hands on one. The Lenovo subsidiary confirmed on Google+ today (and in a tweet that has since been deleted) that the device will be available on September 3rd.
As previously announced, the phone will cost $399.99, and it is largely identical to the Moto X Style that will be available outside of the United States. The notable exception being that the Pure Edition is unlocked and compatible with all major U.S. carriers, and it will come loaded with a more or less "pure" edition of Android.
That $400 will buy you the best specs among Motorola's current crop of devices, including a 5.7-inch quad-HD display (520 ppi), a 21 megapixel camera, 16 GB of storage in the base model (32 GB and 64 GB models are also available), 3 GB of RAM, a 1.8 GHz hexa-core processor and a 3000 mAh battery that promises 30 hours of use on a single charge.
Of course, the other big selling point is the Moto Maker customization options, including your choice of real wood or leather backs and a wide range of color combinations. If those specs and higher end finishes are more than you need, however, you can also pick up the Moto G right now for less than half the price.
