Microsoft revealed at Gamescom a new addition for Xbox One that allows gamers to easily type their thoughts and instructions to fellow players while in the middle of a game.
The Xbox One Chatpad is more or less equal to the one the Xbox 360 has. According to Microsoft, gamers can expect to use the Chatpad by November.
The new Xbox One Chatpad is a compact QWERTY keyboard that attaches perfectly to the bottom of your Xbox One controller. Xbox posted a tweet to share the exciting news with all Xbox One and Windows 10 users.
The Xbox One Chatpad features programmable keys for automated and quick send replies during gameplay; headset audio controls for easier volume adjustment; and backlight for the keypad. It will also allow players to search apps and enter codes with ease and efficiency for an improved gaming experience.
The key feature of the Chatpad is the capability to program the two buttons found on either side of the space bar to serve as shortcut buttons for your gaming needs or taking screenshots of your favorite gameplays to send your friends and contacts. New programmable keys will also be available by sometime mid-2016.
The Xbox One Chatpad package will include a headset with a 3.5mm jack you can plug directly to your Chatpad. According to the Xbox website, the Chatpad will cost gaming enthusiasts $34.99.
The Xbox One Chatpad release date is on Nov. 3, but you can preorder starting today via the Xbox website.
