How do you turn a video game up to 11? You add Motorhead, of course, and that's exactly what the Victor Vran roleplaying game plans on doing with its next expansion.
Titled Motorhead: Through The Ages, the game combines the gameplay of Victor Vran with the music, lyrics, history and general attitude of the legendary heavy metal band to honor Motorhead's 40th anniversary and upcoming new album.
"Based on the highly acclaimed Victor Vran Action-RPG that is already available on Steam, this official and exclusive Motorhead expansion will feature an entirely new storyline, new enemies, weapons and skills!" writes Haemimont Games in a press release. "The expansion, titled 'Motorhead through the Ages,' will be entirely Motorhead themed and the established Victor Vran universe will be extended with new adventures to experience and bosses to fight."
Some of the new Motorhead-themed gaming environments include war-torn landscapes and cities, Wild West-inspired settings and a medieval castle where the Queen of the Damned resides. Every setting and mission finds inspiration from Motorhead in some way: from its album artwork to the lyrics of its songs.
"Motorhead defines the themes of the game as Victor faces evils relevant to our own world - religious fanatics, corrupt politicians and power-hungry oppressive rulers," states the official press release. "During these quests he will be supported not only by the newly designed Motor-Weapons, powers and skills, but also a soundtrack with over a dozen tracks never heard before!"
That's right: Motorhead-inspired weapons in a Motorhead-inspired world. If that sounds good, you can download Victor Vran from Steam now and wait for the official release date for "Motorhead: Through The Ages" to come around, which should happen later this year for PC Windows, Mac OS X and Linux.
Meanwhile, Motorhead drops their new album Bad Magic on August 28. The band is also currently on tour with Saxon and Anthrax, with tour dates available here.
