Forbes Teams Up With Tinder To Make A Social Networking App For The 30 Under 30 Community

Tinder appears to be many millennials' go-to dating app when looking for a hook-up. However, if you're looking for connecting professionally with people in your age group, then surprisingly, Tinder has you covered, too — only networking won't be done through the Tinder app.

Forbes teamed up with Tinder to create a social networking app that is exclusive to the young adults who made Forbes' 30 Under 30 list.

This year, Forbes 30 Under 30 list recognizes 600 millennials who are the biggest game-changers in 20 fields. Featured on this year's list include: YouTube sensation Michelle Phan, Imgur founder Alan Schaaf, co-founder of Butterfly Network Nevada Sanchez and co-founder of Humble Bundle Jeffrey Rosen.

These influential people will be able to network with one another on the new Forbes Under 30 app.

"Forbes' 30 Under 30 lists bring together the most influential and accomplished young entrepreneurs and game changers. Our Under 30 app is a tool we developed to better connect, empower and mobilize this community to help change the world," Salah Zalatimo, Head of Mobile Products at Forbes, said in a press release.

Tinder created a speed business networking feature in the app that will connect members of this exclusive community with each other. The exclusive members can swipe through profiles of the 30 Under 30 list of profiles similarly to how Tinder works, although profiles of both sexes will be displayed. Swipe right, and the user will be able to privately message the person.

The Forbes Under 30 app will feature a directory of its members so these young leaders can look each other up. Their profiles will include a photo, industry they are affiliated with and a brief description of who they are. It will also have a feed that will allow them to post stories and polls.

"As a Forbes 30 Under 30 member, I'm honored to be able to leverage Tinder's technology to help Forbes connect this fantastic community of inspiring and influential thought leaders," said Tinder co-founder and President, Sean Rad (who made the 30 Under 30 list last year). "Tinder connects tens of millions of people every day, and it's exciting to see our technology used for business networking."

Tinder has had its eye on entering the business world of networking for some time, although this avenue is not the path the company will continue on. Tinder recently increased its subscription fees for Tinder Plus, with it now costing $19.99 a month if you're over 30 as opposed to $9.99 is you're under 30.

The Forbes Under 30 app will launch during the second annual Forbes Under 30 Summit in Philadelphia on October 4.
