Long before the notorious duck face selfie pose that dominates social media today, the iconic Blue Steel surprised duck face look was all the rage in the fashion industry.
After 14 long years, the man who brought viewers the legendary pose is back. The new Zoolander 2 trailer is out and the Stephen Hawking-esque narration in the video tells fans it's going to be one fashionably funny movie.
Ben Stiller reprises his role as Derek Zoolander, the celebrated model-turned-hero who saved the life of the Malaysian Prime Minister from the assassination attempt of a really hot-looking merman.
The clip starts with the narration from presumably the Stephen Hawking contemplating the existential and scientific workings of the universe and human condition. The video features stars and other planets until it zeroes in on Earth and even closer on the minute details of the human brain, where various Zoolander references from the first movie are easily recognized by Zoolander fans.
References from the original film, such as the dictionary definition for Eugoogly, a "no left turn" sign, and the popular orange mocha frappuccino, float about in a tiny brain before it zooms out to feature Derek himself arguing with the voice that sounds very much like the computer-based communication system Hawking utilizes.
The movie script is co-written by Justin Theroux and Ben Stiller, who is playing two roles: that is, the role of the title character and role of director of the movie. The film will feature Owen Wilson, Will Ferrell, Christine Taylor, Penelope Cruz, Cyprus Arnold and Kristen Wiig. Viewers also need to look out for cameos from stars like Justin Bieber and, yes, even Willie Nelson.
Zoolander 2 will take off after the events of the first film. The movie hits theaters in February 2016.
