Attack on Titan is everywhere: in manga, in anime and soon as a live action film on movie screens across the world. So, it's no surprise that the creators of the series plan on capitalizing on that, and now, we've got even more Attack on Titan coming to our TVs.
This time, though, the story is different: what do you think life was like for Eren, Mikasa, Armin and the others before the Titans attacked? What were those young characters like, say, perhaps when they were in junior high school?
Thanks to a spinoff manga by Saki Nakagawa, you may know the answer, but if not, an anime series based on that concept is also arriving soon, titled Attack on Titan: Junior High.
As expected, Attack on Titan: Junior High shows us these familiar characters we know as older and more cynical before the Titans ate Eren's mom, before these young people had to make a choice to become fighters in a never-ending war that seems utterly incapable of being won.
Turns out things were a lot lighter and funnier. In fact, don't expect the horrific details of Attack on Titan to even appear on Junior High, because this series is meant as a comedy.
Today, the studio behind the new series, Production I.G., released a new trailer for Attack on Titan: Junior High, which is in Japanese. However, even if you don't understand Japanese, the striking difference between this series and the original is evident:
Everything is different here: from the anime style to the storytelling to the music.
The Attack on Titan: Junior High anime series premieres on MBS in Japan in October. It's likely to get a worldwide release eventually, although those release dates are not yet available. Meanwhile, you can pick up the Attack on Titan: Junior High manga in English soon.
