Former One Direction band member Zayn Malik broke the news via Twitter that he has officially undertaken a different direction for his music career.
The 22-year-old announced he has signed with RCA Records as a solo artist. Zayn will reportedly work with R&B producer Malay, who has worked with artists like John Legend and Frank Ocean. Zayn's decision to sign with RCA can be seen as a smart move since he now joins the record label that made stars out of Alicia Keys, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Kelly Clarkson and Justin Timberlake.

Only time will tell what direction the "real" Zayn Malik will take with RCA. The best all his fans and haters can do now is wait for his single and album to drop so we can all hear what the real Zayn sounds like.
