Fast foodies who wish they could savor the moment they first bite into Colonel Sanders' extra crispy chicken can finally do so. While memories may fade, pictures last forever, so what better way to remember how finger licking' good that KFC was by using the chain's new Bluetooth-enabled chicken bucket that lets consumers print out photos via their smartphones?
KFC in Canada is rolling out this photo-printing chicken bucket in honor of its 60th anniversary. Called "Memories Bucket," consumers connect their smartphones to the bucket and just snap a selfie eating their chicken, and then send and share it with others — because everyone wants to see how good you look while eating.
Calling it "Bucket Science," the photo printer allows KFC lovers to create and share new memories over their favorite food. The photo is printed in Polaroid fashion immediately after selecting the perfect image.
This is not the first time the Yum! Brands-owned chain combined food with technology. KFC previously came out with a Bluetooth keyboard in Germany called Tray Typer that replaced the grease-absorbing paper slips. The rechargeable Bluetooth keyboard allowed users to text without messing up the screens on their smartphones.
Last year, KFC in Japan rolled out a keyboard, mouse and USB stick that were all shaped like pieces of fried chicken.
Pizza Hut, Yum! Brands' other owned chain, also came out with a tech-meets-food invention, the "Blockbuster Box," which transformed the pizza box into a smartphone movie projector.
According to KFC's Facebook page, the chicken chain will be giving the limited-edition Canadian anniversary photo-printing buckets away to a few lucky consumers. It will announce when they are giving them away "soon" on Facebook.
