Even amongst myriad Moto X and G leaks over the past weeks and months, Motorola managed to largely keep the wraps on one of today's big announcements. The newest addition to the company's popular Moto X flagship line, the Moto X Play.
The handset is a more budget-minded version of the new Moto X Style, featuring a 5.5-inch full HD display (to the Style's 5.7) and a 21MP rear-facing camera. It also sports a water-repellent design and has up to 48 hours of battery life with a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor.
Like the Style, the new Play features fully customizable backs; though unlike the higher-end phone, this model runs $300 to $400 less than competing products from big names like Apple and Samsung.
The new budget Moto X Play will be available August, though the company has yet to announce availability here in the States.
