For many people, there's nothing quite as satisfying as sitting down to watch an episode of The Walking Dead with a good beer in their hand. It's a weekly ritual for millions of fans, but something's always been missing. Despite the huge popularity of both the show and beer, there's never been a brew that's solely dedicated to those who love The Walking Dead. Thankfully, that's finally about to change.
The Beer Street Journal is reporting that the folks over at Terrapin have just announced that a new, officially licensed Walking Dead beer will hit store shelves sometime later this year – presumably in time for the show's season six premiere.
"Terrapin Beer Company and The Walking Dead have teamed up to brew the official beer of the undead. Made with blood orange peel and a horrific amount of hops, this bloodthirsty red IPA will have you prepared for the upcoming Zombie Apocalypse."
Considering that Terrapin is located in Georgia (and some of the company's other brews have made appearances throughout the series), it's no surprise that it would be the brewery to team up with The Walking Dead.
Then again, this isn't the first beer to be inspired by AMC's zombie series: a brew called the Dock Street Walker actually included brains. Thankfully, it doesn't look like Terrapin's brew will be quite as gross.
Sadly, there isn't much else in the way of official info: aside from the fact that The Walking Dead beer will be available in 22 oz. bottles, not much is known about the upcoming IPA. Until Terrapin makes its official announcement, Walking Dead fans will just have to hope that they won't be waiting for too long.
