It's no secret that Microsoft is excited about its latest operating system. Following the mess that was Windows 8, Microsoft wants to work its way back into the public's good graces — and as such, the publisher has been pushing just how much new stuff Windows 10 can do.
Then again, a lot of Windows 10 news has come from press conferences and tech demos — it's not exactly the easiest format to digest, especially if you're not all that computer savvy. Don't worry — Microsoft hasn't forgotten about you. If you're one of those people who's confused as to why everyone's excited for this new operating system, then Microsoft's latest Windows 10 preview is for you.
So, what makes this latest preview so different? Well, instead of a long, drawn-out press conference full of technobabble and tech demos, Microsoft has condensed everything it wants you to know about Windows 10 into 45 seconds:
Alright, so it's a bit more aggressive than most advertisements these days, but Microsoft's 45-second preview certainly gets the job done. Windows 10 is supposed to be the operating system that fixes everything wrong about Windows 8, and a return to the usability of Windows 7 — and frankly, that's what the video shows.
In light of its extremely short run-time, it helps that the preview is so straightforward: sure, information is constantly being thrown at the viewer, but most of the preview's run-time is dedicated to showing how Windows 10 is like Windows 7... which is exactly what Microsoft should be doing at this point.
Let's face it, Windows 8 was an obvious bust — while some of the better features are being integrated into Windows 10, that's not why people are excited.
Thankfully, there's only a few days left to wait before Windows gets a huge upgrade: Windows 10 is set for public release on July 29.
