New Moov Fitness Tracker Uses Artificial Intelligence To Be Your Running Coach

The Moov Now is an updated version of the original Moov that was launched in 2014. While it can do everything that its older sibling can, the new Moov has been designed with more features and functionalities that make it an even more well-rounded and aggressive fitness tracker.

Moov recently announced that the upcoming Moov Now will be capable of detecting the number of miles covered during a run. Moreover, users will be able to receive helpful advice on how they can improve their pose and movement.

"One of the reasons this got started was because I got injured while working out," said Meng Li, CEO and co-founder of Moov. "I did some research and a lot of people are actually affected by running and have ankle problems."

The Moov Now supports 200 variations of workouts, with each device having its own artificially intelligent assistant that provides audio guidance and coaching to the wearer. This was made possible through a collaboration with coaches at Stanford who were responsible for developing 10 program apps that encompass five popular activities: running, cycling, interval training, boxing and swimming.

"We have three censors packed in this device," said Li. "Accelerometer, gyroscope and magnetic meter, which measures the magnetic field of the Earth so it knows if you are moving in this direction or that direction."

Running enthusiasts can choose the wearable's Run & Walk program that is designed to track simple forward movement. It should be noted that in this type of program, the user should opt to strap the wearable to his ankle to get the desired results.

Real-time audio coaching and feedback are achieved with the help of earbuds, a smartphone app and motion sensors that can even track the position of one's feet. Other areas that the wearable can provide coaching on include how the user can improve his pacing and how he can correct his form.

For users who crave to do more than a simple bipedal motion, they can also choose from a number of fitness and experience levels to perform a more aggressive workout training. These include the cardio boxing workout, cycling and bodyweight training.

The Moov Now also features a waterproof design that allows the wearer to use the device even while one is underwater at a depth of three meters or about 10 feet. Unlike other activities, the Swim program provides coaching only after the user is out of the pool.

The Moov Now is currently available for preorder at its official site. Customers can get it at an insanely affordable price of $60.
