New 'Hitman' Gameplay Video Leaks: What We Know So Far

IO Interactive and Square Enix have been very secretive so far about the latest installment of the assassin gaming franchise Hitman. However, a leaked footage of its gameplay has shown several elements of the upcoming title, including certain mechanics and environments.

The video has been posted online and taken down several times, so gamers that are looking to catch a glimpse of the footage should watch it now while copies of it still exist on the Internet.

The leaked video shows Hitman's iconic assassin, Agent 47, going through a series of situations with the classic mechanics of the franchise.

It would seem that gamers will be given huge degrees of freedom in deciding how to accomplish missions, but will also be receiving details and tips that can help new gamers with simpler ways to tackle puzzling problems.

It is not clear what stage within the development process is featured in the leaked footage. However, it is likely that the game as shown is moving forward to a beta stage, as most of the mechanics look to be finalized.

Fans have generally made positive comments about the leaked gameplay video, as it provides long-time fans with a return to the mechanics that made the franchise successful.

IO Interactive's development team said that it was looking to build more environments which would be using the same template as the one used in Hitman: Blood Money, which was designed to give gamers with several options on how to carry out their assassination missions.

The studio also revealed that they will be looking to release several timed sessions which gamers can only access for a limited time and can offer bigger rewards.

There is currently no plan for the new Hitman to offer downloadable content, but there will be several new levels that can be acquired by gamers that purchase the game.

Hitman will be released on Dec. 8 through digital distribution for the PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. A physical copy of the game could be offered but at a much later time.

Gamers that purchase the version of the new Hitman for the PlayStation 4 would be able to acquire a total of six missions that are exclusive for the console.
