As the first-ever presenting sponsor of the All-Star Game of Major League Baseball, T-Mobile is launching a promo that could give away $500 each to 10,000 fans for a total of $5 million.
The promo is in celebration of the Mobile Without Borders initiative of T-Mobile, which provides Simple Choice customers with mobile calls, texts and 4G LTE coverage across the three countries of the United States, Canada and Mexico within just one plan.
T-Mobile will be giving away a total of $5 million in travel money for 10,000 fans to visit Canada or Mexico if there will be a 3-for-1 homer, or a three-run home run, at the upcoming MLB All-Star Game.
To get the chance to win, fans simply have to tweet a prediction of who among the participants of the MLB All-Star Game will hit a 3-for-1 homer using two hashtags, namely #3for1HomeRun and #sweepstakes. When a 3-for-1 homer is hit, 10,000 fans who tweeted their guesses will be chosen randomly to win a travel voucher worth $500, which can be used on a trip to either Canada or Mexico.
The $500 voucher can be used toward a flight and hotel package to visit either of the two countries, but fans who win the voucher will have to use it before the year ends.
T-Mobile's Mobile Without Borders allows Simple Choice subscribers to avail of the carrier's service even while in Canada or Mexico. There will be no additional roaming fees charged on customers who will use T-Mobile's service when visiting these countries. These include calls, texts and network data. In addition, customers from the United States who will call numbers registered in Canada or Mexico will be able to do so as though they were simply calling U.S. numbers.
The initiative is expected to cater to users who find themselves frequently traveling between the U.S. and Canada or Mexico, be it for business or leisure. Mobile Without Borders will also be valuable to customers who have relatives or friends living in Canada or Mexico.
The #3for1HomeRun promo is the latest initiative of the carrier in its commitment to MLB and All-Star Week. T-Mobile has launched the All-Star FanFest where T-Mobile subscribers can enjoy exclusive benefits and perks. MLB players will be appearing at FanFest and will also show up at local retail stores of T-Mobile to sign autographs and meet with their fans.
