Fans of the all-time, long-time favorite Krispy Kreme doughnuts can indulge themselves in a dozen of its popular Original Glazed doughnuts for less than a dollar.
Krispy Kreme, in its 78th birthday this year, is giving its US fans a treat. Participating stores are almost giving away the second dozen of Original Glazed doughnuts for every purchase of a dozen of variety doughnuts, Friday, July 10. The second dozen of the famous Original Glazed doughnuts will cost only 78 cents.
To make its 78th birthday more festive, Krispy Kreme is also promoting its confetti and cake batter treats such as the Birthday Cake Batter Doughnut and the Krispy Kreme Birthday Cake Chiller.
The chain tweeted an invite to its US fans to participate in the celebration by taking advantage of its 78-cent dozen doughnuts. Residents in UK were also asking on how much it would cost them to get the dozen; however, Krispy Kreme said UK is not taking part in the doughnut celebration.
Also on Twitter, the chain invited its fans to its 78th Birthday Party on July 8, 3 p.m. Krispy Kreme announced that the first 150 to RSVP will receive free gifts. It is also giving away a whole year of free doughnuts to three lucky participants.
In 1937, Krispy Kreme opened its doors and started selling doughnuts to local grocery stores in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. More than half a century after, it opened its first retail only store on High Point Road in Greensboro. The chain has come a long way, continually improving its products and services. This year highlights not only Krispy Kreme's 78th birthday, but also the opening of its 1000th store in Kansas City, Kansas, earlier in February.
