The long awaited announcement is here, Disney Infinity fans.
Disney Infinity 3.0 will go on sale in North America on August 30, 2015. And not just the Starter Pack, which will sell for a newly lowered price tag of $65 (compared to $75 for the last two Starter Packs). A slew of Playsets and playable figures will go on sale August 30 as well. Let's break down everything that will be available come 8/30:
The Disney Infinity 3.0 Starter Pack comes with the game disc, base, Twilight of the Republic Playset piece and playable figures of Anakin Skywalker and Ahsoka Tano.
The Star Wars Saga Starter Pack is a special edition Starter Pack that's made exclusively for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3. It includes everything that comes in the standard Starter Pack, along with Rise Against the Empire Playset, which includes the Playset piece and Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia figures. (Rise Against the Empire and its associated figures will be available as a separate purchase in late September; this Starter Pack is the only way to get it early.) The Saga Pack also includes Boba Fett as a timed-release exclusive.
The Inside Out Playset comes with the Playset piece, and Joy and Anger figures.
Additional figures will be available to purchase solo, including: Yoda, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Kanan Jarrus, Ezra Bridger, Sabine Wren, Zeb Orrelios, Sadness, Disgust, Fear, Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Mulan, Olaf, Sam Flynn and Quorra.
Two Power Disc Packs will be available that include four discs each and will retail for $9.99. The Tomorrowland disc pack includes discs for a Tomorrowland-themed landscape and sky dome, a retro ray gun, and a time bomb. A disc pack that goes with Twilight of the Republic gets you a landscape and sky dome for Felucia, General Grievous' Wheel Bike, and the ability to team-up with Mace Windu.
Also, Toy Box Takeover is being made available as an early bonus for those who pre-order the game. Takeover is a Toy Box expansion game that features dungeon crawling gameplay with an all-new storyline that finds Syndrome stealing Merlin's magic wand to create a variety of new worlds that players must traverse and conquer. All past and current figures are compatible with Toy Box expansion games. Playing through the three-hour game gives you the opportunity to unlock special new toys for the Toy Box as well. Toy Box Takeover will be sold separately later this year for $19.99, so it's a great deal as a pre-order bonus.
More Playsets, figures, and disc packs — including a new Marvel Playset and at least one more Star Wars Playset — will be rolled out through the fall and early 2016.
