Wonder how Donald Trump feels about this.
On Wednesday (July 1), Amazon announced the expansion of its physical-goods sales in Mexico. Although the company had previously offered Kindle e-books to Mexican customers, Amazon has introduced a Spanish-language website, featuring millions of products and items, ready to be shipped to Mexico. The items include Amazon's usual assortment of products (consumer electronics, kitchen and home items, sports equipment, tools, baby, etc.).
As part of its expansion into Mexico, Amazon is also launching a separate online selling service for Mexican businesses and sellers.
"When sellers list on Amazon, they have the opportunity to reach more customers, build their business and make money. Amazon is a powerful sales channel for businesses of all sizes in Mexico, enabling them to efficiently launch or grow their sales online," said Germán Pérez-Duarte, Director of Mexico Seller Services, said via a press release statement. "Bringing business, retailers and resellers to the Amazon.com.mx platform ultimately provides customers with the best shopping experience through greater access to a vast selection of unique items."
Amazon's presence in Mexico should help to continue to boost the nation's e-commerce business, which is already increasing by 34 percent annually. One report also projects Amazon's arrival to help Mexico reach increased retail sales of 150 percent between 2013 and 2018 from $2.2 billion to $5.5 billion and online buyers from increasing by 114 percent from 8.4 million in 2013 to 18 million in 2018.
