Apple Rolls Out iTunes 12.2 Update With Apple Music And Beats 1: Everything You Need To Know

Apple has pushed out the much-awaited iTunes 12.2 update with Apple Music and Beats 1 for users of OS X Yosemite and Windows. The update brings desktop support for the Apple Music service.

Apple Music will enable iTunes users to create playlists, hear on-demand music, locate music appropriate for all activities and more. Apple Music will also come with Apple Music Connect and Beats 1 radio station in tow.

"Apple Music includes a revolutionary music service, the all-new Beats 1 live radio station, and an exciting new way for fans to connect with their favorite artists," stated the update notes. "Become a member to play from millions of songs in the Apple Music catalog, or keep them offline for playback later."

The update to iTunes includes the following:

1. For You: This feature gives you album and playlist recommendations, which are based on your preferences.

2. New: This will suggest the latest music that is curated by Apple's music editors. One can also go through mixes that are created for specific activities, such as exercising, or different genres.

3. Connect: This is a place where one can interact with their favorite music artists. You can see videos, photos, music and thoughts shared by them on connect and comment on any post. The artist will be able to respond directly as well.

4. Beats 1: The live 24/7 radio station can be accessed from your desktop. Beats 1 will be broadcast from places around the world and one can listen not only to music but also to interviews.

5. Apple Music Radio: This has been revamped. One can play music from Featured Stations as experts curate the songs one hears. Don't like a station? Simply start one with another song or artist. Moreover, the Recently Played feature will enable you to return with ease.

6. My Music: This is a unified place where you can seek out all the music you own, which includes music from your CDs, songs bought on iTunes, as well as songs from Apple Music.

7. iTunes Store: You can purchase music from your favorite artists, either their singles or album
