Well, it looks like Shazam wasn't about to let the launch of Apple Music go by without an announcement of its own. Following an update last week that added integration with Apple's streaming service, Shazam has now rolled out a new feature that serves as a rival of sorts to Apple's own, more social-minded Music Connect feature.
As of today, you'll now be able to see what music a select group of bands and artists are using Shazam to look up (or, at least what they choose to publicly share), with new music from artists that users have previously "Shazamed" or followed appearing automatically in the app. More than 30 artists have been recruited to start with, including the likes of Pitbull, Coldplay, Avicii and Alicia Keys, and Shazam says "hundreds of additional artists from around the world" will be added following the initial launch.
What's more, the app will now also display a "Shazam Count" for each song for the first time, letting you see just how many times a song has been looked up by users.
