3D Printer Recreates Batman Costume, Complete With Fireballs And Easy Mobility

If you thought the closest you could get to becoming Batman was playing Arkham Knight, despite all of the game's bugs, think again: creative teams Gauntlet FX, Crimson Coscrafts, and Tundra Designs, and the Galway-based FX firm Order 66 Creatures and Effects, have built the ultimate batsuit, all with the help of a handy-dandy 3D printer.

The costume, designed by Julian Checkley, took four weeks to finish, halving the time of most design teams and costume artists. Crimson first modeled the suit in 3D, and Gauntlet did the molding and casting.

In the video below, a subject is decked out in full Batman attire and made to undergo a series of tests to evaluate suit movement, cape movement, and gauntlet fireball shooting (yes, that's right: gauntlet fireball shooting), all in the name of authenticity.

So, does it pass? We think so.
