There's no action in this first clip from DC Entertainment's highly anticipated Justice League: Gods & Monsters. It's a talky scene, but a fascinating one.
Justice League: Gods & Monsters imagines an Earth where very different versions of Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman are the greatest powers on the planet. As created by Bruce Timm, this world's Superman is the son of Zod —who came to Earth just as Kal-El did, but he was raised by Mexican immigrants and inherited his father's superiority complex. Batman is scientist Kirk Langstrom (aka Man-Bat in the core DC universe), a cancer patient who accidentally turned into a vampire while trying to cure himself. And Wonder Woman is a super-powered hero named Bekka, wife of Orion the New God.
Oh, and Amanda Waller is President of the United States. How's that for a twist?
With relations between the Justice League and world governments already frosty, things only get worse when well-known scientists start turning up dead. In this clip, the League members discuss how the public sees them, and in a scenario similar to that seen in DC's Injustice: Gods Among Us comic books, they ponder what might happen if they were to take control and enforce law and order.
Are they friend or foe? Are they to be hailed or feared? Find out here.
The movie stars the voices of Benjamin Bratt as Superman, Michael C. Hall as Batman, Tamara Taylor as Wonder Woman, Jason Isaacs as Lex Luthor, Paget Brewster as Lois Lane, Tahmoh Penikett as Steve Taylor, C. Thomas Howell as Dr. Will Magnus and Penny Johnson Jerald as Amanda Waller.
Justice League: Gods & Monsters arrives on Blu-ray and DVD on July 28, 2015.
