Ben Affleck To Direct Next Batman Movie Titled 'The Batman' With November 2018 Release Date

Warner Bros. has so far announced 10 DC movies that are set to hit theaters from 2016 to 2020. However, this list does not contain a Batman standalone film. Well, this could change soon enough.

The guys at Latino Review are reporting that Warner Bros. is making plans for a Batman film to be released in November of 2018. As expected, Ben Affleck will be the main man, but there is one big surprise here.

Apparently, Affleck will also be the director, and he will team up with Argo and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice writer, Chris Terrio. From what we've come to understand, this movie is currently titled, "The Batman" and will go toe-to-toe with Marvel's Captain Marvel.

We should point out that Chris Terrio is also the man who will pen both Justice League movies, so he must have done something out of this world with Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice for Warner Bros. to give him the keys to the biggest DC property.

As for what this Batman movie would be about; we have no idea at all.

What we'd want to see from "The Batman."

No more Joker, yes. Jared Leto's version of the man prince of crime is the third time an actor has jumped into the seat, and you know what, we're tired of it. We want to see a villain never before used in a Batman film, we want to see, the Doctor Hugo Strange or even the return of the Penguin.

We would also want the Batman story to tie in very well with the DC Cinematic Universe, and not just a movie where the actions taken will have no consequences outside of that film.

Yes, we're asking for a lot here, but this is Batman, the greatest comic book hero of all time.

At the moment, this is just a rumor, but it makes sense. We do not see Ben Affleck choosing to become Batman to not have his own movie before 2020.
